Foreword by President Kush Dave

SWF Rotary Club are already busy preparing for the Swimarathon for next year, that takes place on 15 to 17 March 2024.

This event has been held every year (except during Covid-19 year) and in 2024, it will be our 20 anniversary. The Swimarathon helps raise funds for Rotary charities and other good causes that are nominated by the swimmers or their clubs themselves.

Our main support for the Rotary year 2023/24 will go to The Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This charity is uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis (CF) and they fund vital research, improve care, speak out and race towards effective treatments for all. This charity is particularly close to my heart as I have a very young family member that unfortunately, has this illness. You can find out more about the CF Trust via the following website:-

We are sure that our twentieth Swimarathon will continue to be a very successful event and this is largely due to the support from the local schools, local youth organisations from parents and people generally wanting to raise money for a worthy cause. It is open to everybody so why not get involved and submit your own team (Contact Details at the top of this page)? The event entails teams of up to 6 sponsored swimmers to swim for a total of 45 minutes culminating in a frenzied “free for all” for the last 5 minutes. This is by no means a race event, simply a occasion to be enjoyed by all regardless of age. We have had people from 6 years of age to 80 years of age! The sponsorship money raised will be donated to not only the Cystic Fibrosis Trust but also to the Rotary Club of South Woodham Ferrers Charitable Trust which enables us to help you support the community.
