The event is organised to raise money in the local South Woodham Ferrers area with a Charity Swimarathon whereby teams of 6 will gain sponsorship to swim for a total of 55 minutes. The sponsorship money will be donated to the Rotary Club of South Woodham Ferrers to add to funds for local good causes. The Rotary Club of South Woodham Ferrers is holding its Fifth Swimarathon from 13th March until 15th March 2009. Our primary aim will be to raise money for deserving projects for the caring community of South Woodham Ferrers. 2008 we supported with the Swimarathon, three main charities:-

In 2008 we were supporting the charities above. They received £9000 because of your generosity In 2008 other local good causes also benefited, donations like £250 for St John Ambulance for their support throughout the Swimarathon.First responders for their support with the Firerworks We can only provide this support by the generosity of people like you in South Woodham who donate to our Rotary Club when we knock on your door selling programmes for the Firework Spectacular or when we bring Santa to see the children of the Town and now through our Swimarathon. The money raised by last years Swimarathon was over £12000 and divided between the charities above as promised All in all we have raised over £30000 from our community over the last 3 years from Swimarathons Other Rotary Funds gained from the Sleigh & Fireworks went to many of organizations, to our scouts and guide troops, as well as the Air Training Corps. There have been dozens of smaller donations to all manner of worthy causes in the past ranging from people with disabilities requiring a special wheelchair or three wheeled bike or young people wishing to raise money for their particular worthy cause and many more. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we were able to cover all of our expenses of this event, leaving the sponsor money raised by our swimming teams to Little Haven Children's Hospice, Helen Rollason Centre and Essex Air Ambulance We hope you enjoy the content of this site and find the booking online pages and download pages useful and easy to use.
