Our primary aim will be to raise money for deserving projects for the caring community of South Woodham Ferrers. In 2009 we were supporting the charities below. They received £9000 because of your generosity Chelmsford Children Hospital Wards Fund Little Havens Hospice In 2009 other local good causes also benefited, donations like £250 for St John Ambulance for their support throughout the Swimarathon. Other charities of individual swimmers could also benefit to the extent of 25% of donations & sponsorship of the individual The money raised by last years Swimarathon was over £11000 and divided between the charities above as promised In 2010 we are supporting Rotary
Charities & Essex Air Ambulance
J's Hospice in Chelmsford and other Rotary Charities We can only provide this support by the generosity of people like you in South Woodham and surrounding area who donate to our Rotary Club when we knock on your door selling programmes for the Firework Spectacular or when we bring Santa to see the children of the Town and now through our Swimarathon. All in all we have raised over £55000 from our community over the last 5 years from Swimarathons Other Rotary Funds gained from the Sleigh & Fireworks went to many of organizations, to our scouts and guide troops, as well as the Air Training Corps. There have been dozens of smaller donations to all manner of worthy causes in the past ranging from people with accompanying disabled people to holidays or young people wishing to raise money for their particular worthy cause and many more. Our Rotary website on www.swfrotary.co.uk gives more up to date news as the year goes by. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we were able to cover all of our expenses of this event, leaving the sponsor money raised by our swimming teams to Little Haven, Chelmsford Children's Wards. We hope you enjoy the content of this site and find the booking online pages and download pages useful and easy to use. Our main aim is to keep all of our supporters well informed and interested in this new Town annual event. We are asking you to support us again for 2010 event

| Here is a picture of our new swimming pool
and Rotary utilises the pool so that many more people become aware
of the pool, whilst at the same time to organise an
event to raaise money for charitable cause.
It means that Rotary
will usually
be able to
respond to local good causes. This is
a fun event which allows everyone to support
charity at the same time.

Forward by The President Of The Rotary Club of South Woodham Ferrers.
As we enter the sixth
year of this great charity
fund-raising event, I pay tribute to all those who will
be taking part or have
sponsored the Swimarathon. Please tell your friends, neighbours,
relatives, colleagues etc., and
maybe they will enter a team too.
You don’t have to be a Duncan Goodhew to take part as you can rest
between each length swam.
I look forward to seeing or meeting you during the Swimarathon weekend or at the Presentation Evening. Please continue to support us to raise funds for such worthy charities as the NHS Air Ambulance. Andy Lewis - President.
